Volume 1 Chapter 9: You Can Understand Him?

"What did you say?" Sophia thought she heard something wrong as she stared at her husband. 

She turned to Alvin, who also had the same expression. 

"I said I want to meet my youngest," William repeated. That caused Sophia and Alvin to be stunned. If Sophia and Alvin were thought to be stoic, William was a level above that! 

She felt there was something wrong with him. 

His black raven hair and azure blue eyes stared at his wife. He was a handsome man. But he was like a statue, showing no ounce of emotion.  

"Why do you want to meet Keith?" Sophia questioned. 

"That's because I'm curious about him." William was calm. He added, "Rumors are circulating about him in the estate,"

"..." Sophia and Alvin stay silent. They knew about the rumors as well. The fourth son of Marquis Freed is a genius! The most recent one was how he was loved by animals.

The maids were sworn to secrecy about the bird incident. But that was not the case with the guards. Some guards saw the scene of Keith being swarmed. 

That scene spread around the estate. Everyone was curious about the fourth son. And this caught William's attention as well. 

"Alright, you can meet with Keith." Sophia sighed in defeat. But once she said this, Eric and Derek asked, 

"Mother, can we see him as well?" 

"No." Sophia denied.

"But Alvin is allowed to see him." Alvin was the closest to Keith. 

Alvin acted calm as he stared at them, "That's because Keith is fine with me."

The two frowned when they heard that. Are you saying Keith won't be okay with us?

"Anyways, I will be meeting with him." William ended the conversation with that. 

...

Alvin and Sophia were in turmoil as they wondered, "Why does Father want to meet with Little Brother?!"

"I have no idea either." Sophia was shocked. Her expression was complex as it changed into different things as she clutched her head. 

While the two were in turmoil, Keith had a smile on Sophia's lap.  

They changed so much. The two showed a range of emotions compared to the other times. 

"Has Father ever met with Derek once?" Alvin questioned. Derek was his younger brother and Keith's older one. 

Never once had Alvin seen William meet with him. 

"No. William had never met with him once." Sophia shook her head. William never once did this to Alvin or Eric either. They met when they became old enough to eat solid food. 

What could get this man to come here? Sophia couldn't help but question.

"Mother, what do we do?" Alvin questioned. 

"We just have to let them meet." Sophia stared down at her youngest, who continued to have a smile on his face. He had no sense of worry at all. That caused her to pat his head. It was soothing. 

"Mom! No fair! I want to pat Keith's head!" Alvin got up from his seat and tried to pat him. But Sophia moved away from him, 

"No way. This is my lap time with him. You guys played at the library."

"..." Keith and Alvin stared at her. So childish!

"Also, we need to prepare for our time with Keith to be shortened." Sophia could see it now. Their time with the youngest would be shorter as more people came into Keith's life.

"..." Alvin's expression turned dark. 

That's not an expression you should make, Big Brother! Also, you too, Mother! 

The expressions on their faces were frightening. It was like the world had shattered.

At night, the owl entered his room again. 

"Ah," Aria! Keith waved his hands toward the owl. He decided to name the owl Aria. With how many times it came to meet him, it needed a name. 

It seemed the owl knew he was speaking about it. 

It flew into the crib. These last few days were enough to make them close to one another.  

Aria would play with Keith as it flew in circles above the crib. It would follow Keith's fingers. The two had become friends.

Sophia paced around back and forth with worry on her face. It was the day William and Keith would meet. And this was why she was worried.

I hope nothing terrible happens. William knocked on the door. Sophia opened to see William. He was right on time.  

"Where is my son?" William glanced around, and his eyes locked onto the crib. In there was a smiling Keith. The baby raised his hand into the air and waved. 

Hi, father! This was the first time meeting with William. However, he knew he was related to him. The two looked similar to one another. And that came from the signature black hair both of them had.

Keith saw himself in the mirror. He had Sophia's emerald green eyes and William's black hair. His facial features were impeccable. 

And it was to be expected when his entire family's visuals were overpowered. 

While Keith continued to wave his hand at him, William stood there. He had a confused look. Sophia translated, "He's saying hello."

William turned to Sophia, "You can understand him?"

"Of course, I can. I'm Keith's mother." There was a hint of proudness as she said this. While she was beside him, Sophia slowly understood what Keith wanted. 

It became a cinch to understand him.
